Geriatric Massage

2.50 CE hours - Certificate of Completion
1 class session - choice of morning or evening session

Course Description:
Participants gain insight into meaningful work with elderly clientele. Therapists learn to expand there practice to work more efficiently and compassionately with geriatric individuals. This field of therapy is emotionally satisfying and financially rewarding.

Method of Learning:
PowerPoint presentation and hands on practice.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will learn whole body techniques to relax and increase range of motion in their elderly clients.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understands the needs of the elderly client
  • Understands contraindications of geriatric massage
  • Knows why and when to use geriatric massage
  • Knows session duration for geriatric massage
  • Understands and practices positioning for the geriatric clientele

    Prerequisite:
    Completion of at least a 500-Hour Massage Therapy/Bodywork program or other Health-Care Practitioner program
